Snug Violence Prevention Program

The initiative seeks to involve residents, private sector entities, and community organizations in efforts to diminish and prevent gun violence. Outreach workers act as peer mentors for a group of high-risk individuals, regularly engaging with them to target potential offenders, uncover the underlying causes of gun violence, and help them access essential services like job training and substance abuse counseling. This program is managed by the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services.
