About this resource
The Youth Summer Camp runs for six weeks during July and August, featuring enjoyable and safe activities for children aged 4 to 10, which includes complimentary dinners for attendees. The camp operates Monday through Friday from 9 am to 4 pm, and pre-registration is necessary. Additionally, the Pre-Teen Summer Program offers job opportunities related to the Pre-Teen Summer Camp, the Teen Summer Basketball League, a Food Cart, and summer tutoring support. Teen positions include working at the GIAC Food Cart from Monday to Friday, 11 am to 5 pm, participating in the Rashad Richardson Basketball League, going on out-of-town trips, and managing the Get It and Go Snack Cart at adult basketball events. The Adult Basketball League takes place during the summer months, with team registration applications available in April and May, and games commencing in June. The Alex Haley Municipal Pool is a community facility accessible to both youth and adults who can swim, with special group rates for organizations during open swim times. Daily admissions and season passes can be purchased at GIAC. Fees for the summer camp are based on a sliding scale.
