This program offers short-term support for individuals and families aiming for self-sufficiency. It can help with either a security deposit or the first month's rent, but not both. Additionally, it is responsible for covering costs and assisting in the arrangements for burials for Warren County residents who pass away without financial resources or family to handle the burial expenses. Family Assistance (FA) provides financial aid to families with children, with cash benefits capped at five years over a recipient's lifetime. After this period, if an adult is disabled and unable to work, the case may continue to receive benefits or may need to seek assistance through the Safety Net category. Safety Net Assistance (SNA) offers funds for essential living costs to single adults and childless couples, or families that have exhausted their five-year FA limit. Cash benefits under SNA are limited to two years, after which a non-cash voucher system is in place. Emergency Temporary Assistance through Emergency Assistance for Families (EAF) or Emergency Safety Net Assistance (ESNA) helps with urgent situations such as evictions, moving costs, utility shutoffs, food expenses, and diversion payments to prevent the need for ongoing assistance. Individuals do not have to be on public assistance to qualify for Emergency Temporary Assistance. The program also aids those who are homeless or at risk of homelessness in finding housing.
