About this resource
WIC is a public health initiative focused on enhancing health outcomes and shaping lifelong nutrition and health practices for women, infants, and children. The program emphasizes nutrition education as its foundation, supplemented by services such as breastfeeding support, monthly allowances for additional nutritious foods, and connections to community resources. WIC operates under Clackamas County Access to Preventive Health (APH), which works to eliminate barriers to care and improve immunization rates, reproductive health, and the overall health and nutrition of mothers and children.

Who can use this
- To qualify for WIC, applicants must meet four criteria: -Reside in Oregon (US citizenship is not a requirement) -Be pregnant, postpartum, or breastfeeding, or have a child under 5 years old. Fathers, foster parents, and other guardians may apply for a qualifying child. -Have a household income below 185% of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL). Those receiving OHP, SNAP, or TANF are automatically considered income-eligible. -Demonstrate a nutritional need or risk.
