The Employment Related Day Care program (ERDC) supports families who are employed, enrolled in school, or receiving Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) by helping them cover child care costs, including registration fees.

Application Process: You can apply online, via phone, or in person at a local ODHS Self Sufficiency Branch Office.

Cost: ERDC operates as a subsidy program, meaning that many families are still responsible for a portion of the child care expenses, known as a copayment (copay). The copayment amount is determined by the family's size and income.

Who can use this

This program is designed for families that: -Reside in Oregon -Are employed, attending school, or receiving TANF. -In two-parent households, both parents must be working or studying (this does not apply to TANF recipients). -Exceptions exist for two-parent families where one parent is unable to provide child care due to medical or mental health issues, or if state-required supervised contact is necessary. -Require child care to maintain employment, attend school, or engage in family well-being activities. Must have a child who is: -Under 13 years old and requires child care, or -Ages 13 to 17 needing care due to special circumstances. -Must meet income thresholds. -Initial income limits are set at 200% of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL), with ongoing and exit limits at 250% FPL.
