The Employment Related Day Care program (ERDC) supports families who are employed, enrolled in school, or receiving Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) by helping with child care costs, including registration fees.

Application Process: You can apply online, via phone, or by visiting a local ODHS Self Sufficiency Branch Office.

Fees: As a subsidy program, ERDC requires many families to contribute towards child care expenses through a copayment, which varies based on family size and income.

Who can use this

  • Eligible families must: -Reside in Oregon -Be working, attending school, or receiving TANF -In two-parent households, both parents should be working or in school (unless receiving TANF) -There are exceptions for parents unable to provide care due to medical or mental health issues, or if state-mandated supervised contact is necessary -Require child care to maintain employment, education, or family well-being activities -Have children who are: -Under 13 years old needing care, or -Aged 13 to 17 with special circumstances requiring care -Meet income thresholds, with initial limits set at 200% of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL) and ongoing limits at 250% FPL.
