About this resource
Head Start services aim to prepare children for school by fostering their social and cognitive growth within a classroom environment while offering educational, health, nutritional, social, and additional services to both children and their families. The program places a strong emphasis on parental involvement, providing parents with resources such as goal setting assistance, parenting classes, and networking opportunities. Head Start locations can be found in Stevenson, Hood River (across several sites), Klickitat, Goldendale, Wishram, Petersburg, Tygh Valley, and White Salmon.

Who can use this
- Families with children aged 3-5 are eligible, particularly those with incomes at or below 100% of the federal poverty level, as well as children in foster care, homeless children, and those from families receiving public assistance, with priority given to families with greater needs.
