About this resource

The Employment Related Day Care program (ERDC) provides financial assistance for child care to families who are employed, enrolled in school, or receiving Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), which includes coverage for registration fees.

Application Process: Individuals can apply through online platforms, by telephone, or by visiting a nearby ODHS Self Sufficiency Branch Office.

Cost: As a subsidy program, ERDC requires many families to contribute a portion of the child care expenses, known as a copayment (copay). The copay amount is determined based on the family's size and income.

Who can use this

  • To qualify for this program, families must: -Reside in Oregon -Be working, attending school, or receiving TANF. -In two-parent households, both parents need to be working or studying (exceptions exist for TANF recipients). -Require child care to maintain employment, education, or participate in family well-being activities. Have a child who is: -Under 13 years old needing care, or -Aged 13 to 17 needing care due to special circumstances. -Meet specified income thresholds, with initial limits at 200% FPL and ongoing/exit limits at 250% FPL.
