The subsidies associated with project-based assistance remain with the designated development; thus, if a tenant moves out, the subsidy does not follow them. Fees: Under the Housing Choice Vouchers, tenants must contribute at least 30% of their income towards rent, with the possibility of paying up to 40% depending on the chosen unit. For Project-Based Assistance, tenants are also required to pay a minimum of 30% of their income for rent.
