About this resource

Climate Support is a health-related social need service provided by the Oregon Health Plan, designed to ensure safety during climate-related events. The covered devices are intended solely for use in the member's home or primary residence and may consist of: -Air conditioners, heaters, and air filters to maintain clean air and comfortable temperatures -Mini refrigerators to preserve medication during power outages -Portable power supplies for operating medical devices like ventilators during outages. Members can access HRSN climate services only once throughout their lifetime.

Intake Procedure: For CCO members, contact the CCO or visit the website for further details. Open card members should call or email for information. Clients not enrolled in a CCO can call for assistance. Additional information, including detailed eligibility requirements, CCO contact details, member resources, and request forms, can be found on the website.

Fees: There are no associated costs.

Who can use this

Members of OHP must meet specific criteria: -Have a qualifying living situation for HRSN services -Possess a health condition that complicates or endangers them during climate events -Reside in a location with electricity -Be capable of safely using the device. For air conditioners or air filters: -Must not already possess one -Have received medical assistance currently or within the last 12 months through OHA, ODHS, or Medicare -Be at risk for heat-related illnesses due to being 65 years or older, a medically fragile child, or having a medical condition exacerbated by heat or smoke.
