About this resource

The Child Care Reimbursement program is designed to assist resource parents and relative caregivers in covering child care expenses. Certified resource parents and relative caregivers who need child care for children in their care due to work commitments or educational pursuits are eligible for reimbursement. Payments can reach up to $375 per month for each child and are provided as reimbursements to the resource parent. This reimbursement is applicable only when children are cared for in licensed or approved childcare facilities. If the caregiver is a relative or family friend who does not require licensing, approval from DHS is necessary.

To initiate the process, resource parents and relative caregivers should reach out to the child's caseworker regarding their child care requirements. After identifying an approved child care provider, the family can complete the Child Care Authorization form.

There are no associated fees.
