The cash assistance is designed to cover essential needs such as food, clothing, shelter, and utilities. Participants of the TANF program may also have the opportunity to engage in the Jobs Opportunity and Basic Skills (JOBS) program, which supports individuals in earning their high school diploma or GED, along with job readiness and life skills training.

After submission: - The local DHS office will reach out to schedule either an in-person or phone interview - Applicants can proactively contact the local DHS office to arrange the interview - DHS representatives cannot leave messages on voicemails that lack the applicant's name in the greeting.
