About this resource
WIC is a public health initiative aimed at enhancing health outcomes and shaping long-term nutrition and health practices for women, infants, and children. The program emphasizes nutrition education as its foundation, while also providing breastfeeding support, monthly allowances for additional nutritious foods, and connections to community resources.

Who can use this
- To qualify for WIC, applicants must meet four requirements: -Reside in Oregon (US citizenship is not necessary for WIC participation) -Be a pregnant, postpartum, or breastfeeding woman, or an infant or child under 5 years old. Fathers, foster parents, and other guardians may apply for a qualifying child. -Have a household income that is below 185% of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL). Families enrolled in OHP, SNAP, or TANF are automatically considered income-eligible for WIC. -Have a nutritional risk, which will be evaluated during the appointment.
