About this resource

Early Head Start is a home visiting initiative designed to foster healthy birth outcomes, improve child development, and cultivate positive parenting practices. The program offers services such as home visits, socialization events where parents and children can interact with others, parenting education, goal-setting assistance, and networking opportunities for parents. Additionally, it provides center-based care for working families. A unique aspect of the program is its availability at the Coffee Creek Correctional Facility through a partnership with the Oregon Department of Corrections, where educators assist incarcerated mothers in bonding with their children, acquiring parenting skills, and preparing for life after release.
