About this resource
This program provides vital financial support for verified needs, covering various types of assistance such as auto payments and repairs, child and dependent care, crucial baby items, dental care, essential home items, food aid, home repairs, medical expenses, moving and relocation costs, rent and mortgage payments, travel and transportation, utility bills, and vision care. Home repairs are available for all post-9/11 wounded service members, while deployed eligible service members may receive assistance for repairs instead of replacements. The assistance limits are as follows: - Active duty members ranked E1-E6 can receive a total of 3 lifetime assists - Currently deployed members on Title 10 orders receiving hazardous duty pay can receive up to 5 lifetime assists - Those with documented injuries, illnesses, or wounds from post-9/11 service may also receive 5 lifetime assists. The duration of assistance varies based on the type requested.
Intake Procedure: To apply online and check eligibility criteria, visit the website. For assistance with eligibility or questions regarding the application process, please call. - Application and initial processing period: 1st-10th of each month - Evaluation and review period: 11th-20th of each month - Notification and final processing period: 21st-30th of each month.
Fees: None.
Who can use this
- Applicants must meet one of three criteria: 1) Wounded, Ill, or Injured - served in the U.S. military post-9/11 with a qualifying injury; 2) Deployed - E1-E6 service members with eligible dependents meeting specific deployment conditions; 3) General - active duty E1-E6 members with eligible dependents.
Documents you may need
- All applicants: Military ID, documentation of all household income (i.e., most recent military Leave and Earnings Statement (LES) or Retiree Account Statement (RAS), civilian pay, disability benefits, etc.) Deployed: Copy of deployment orders Wounded, ill, or injured: DD214 (if discharged), Line of Duty documentation or other official record of a wound, illness, or injury being sustained in the line of duty Applications without proper documentation will not be accepted.
