About this resource
Climate Support is a service under health-related social needs (HRSN) provided by the Oregon Health Plan, aimed at ensuring safety during climate events through specific devices. These devices, which are intended solely for use in the member's home or primary residence, may include air conditioners, heaters, and air filters for maintaining clean air and comfortable temperatures, mini fridges for preserving medication during power outages, and portable power supplies for operating medical equipment like ventilators when the power is out. Members are eligible for HRSN climate services only once in their lifetime.

Who can use this
- Members of Cascade Health Alliance must meet specific criteria, including having a qualifying living situation, a health condition that complicates climate events, access to electricity, and the ability to safely use the device; they must not already possess an air conditioner or air filter, must have received medical assistance recently, and be at risk for heat-related illnesses due to age or medical fragility.
