About this resource

This program offers financial support to low-income families, immigrants, refugees, pregnant women, and individuals who are elderly, blind, or disabled. Available programs include TANF/WorkFirst, AREN, Diversion Cash Assistance, Refugee Cash Assistance, and ABD.

Application Process: To apply, individuals can call, visit the website, or go to any Community Service Office (CSO). Once an application is submitted, DSHS will send a notification detailing the interview process. Clients in need of urgent financial help should consult their case manager. Additionally, the phone service includes a callback option (virtual hold) allowing callers to provide their number and receive a return call when it’s their turn. Callers may interact with multiple representatives, starting with a navigator who will assess the situation to ensure the caller is directed to the most suitable assistance.

Cost: There are no fees associated with the application.
