About this resource
Climate Support is a health-related social need (HRSN) service available through the Oregon Health Plan. These HRSN Climate Supports consist of devices designed to ensure safety during climate events. The covered devices are intended solely for use in the member's home or primary residence and may include: -Air conditioners, heaters, and air filters to maintain clean air and comfortable temperatures -Mini fridges to preserve medication during power outages -Portable power supplies to power medical devices like ventilators during outages. Members can access HRSN climate services only once throughout their lifetime.

Fees: There are no fees associated.
Who can use this
- Members of Eastern Oregon CCO must meet several criteria: -Have a qualifying living situation for HRSN services -Have a health condition that poses challenges during climate events -Reside in a location with electricity -Be able to use the device safely. For air conditioners or air filters: -Must not already possess an air conditioner or air filter -Must have received medical assistance currently or within the last 12 months from OHA, Oregon Department of Human Services (ODHS), or Medicare -Must be at risk for heat-related illness due to being 65 years or older, a medically fragile child, or having a medical condition exacerbated by heat or smoke.
