Climate Support is a service addressing health-related social needs (HRSN) offered by the Oregon Health Plan. It includes devices intended to protect individuals during climate-related events. The approved devices are meant for use solely within the member's home or primary residence and may consist of: -Air conditioners, heaters, and air filters to maintain clean air and appropriate temperatures -Mini refrigerators for storing medications during power outages -Portable power sources to power medical equipment like ventilators during outages. Members are eligible for HRSN climate services only once in their lifetime.

Who can use this

Members of Jackson Care Connect must meet specific criteria: -Have a qualifying living situation for HRSN services -Possess a health condition that complicates or endangers them during climate events -Reside in an area with electricity -Be able to safely operate the device. For air conditioners or air filters: -Must not already possess an air conditioner or air filter -Must have received medical assistance within the last 12 months from OHA, Oregon Department of Human Services (ODHS), or Medicare -Must be at risk for heat-related illnesses due to being 65 or older, being a medically fragile child, or having a medical condition exacerbated by heat or smoke.
