About this resource
The Employment Related Day Care program (ERDC) provides support to families who are employed, enrolled in educational programs, or receiving Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) to help with child care costs, which also includes registration fees.
Application Process: You can apply through the internet, by telephone, or in person at a nearby ODHS Self Sufficiency Branch Office.
Costs: ERDC operates as a subsidy program, meaning that many families are still responsible for a portion of the child care expenses, known as a copayment (copay). The copayment amount is determined by the family's size and income level.
Who can use this
- To qualify for this program, families must: -Reside in Oregon -Be working, attending school, or receiving TANF. -In a two-parent household, both parents need to be working or in school (this does not apply to TANF recipients). -There are exceptions for two-parent families where one parent is unable to provide care due to medical or mental health issues, or if state-required supervised contact is necessary. -Require child care to maintain employment, pursue education, or engage in family well-being activities. Have a child who is: -Under 13 years old needing care, or -Ages 13 to 17 requiring care due to special circumstances. -Meet income thresholds. -Initial income thresholds are set at 200% of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL), with ongoing and exit limits at 250% FPL.
