About this resource
Under Utah law, birth parents have the option to anonymously surrender custody of their newborn without incurring any legal penalties. Any hospital in Utah is recognized as a Safe Haven where newborns can be safely left. The Department of Child and Family Services (DCFS) subsequently facilitates the immediate adoption of the child.
Who can use this
- The mother or an authorized individual can drop off the newborn at the hospital.
