Under Utah law, birth parents have the option to anonymously surrender custody of their newborns without incurring any legal penalties. Designated hospitals in Utah, which operate 24 hours a day, serve as Safe Havens where newborns can be safely left. Following this, the DCFS facilitates immediate adoption of the child.

- The newborn may be surrendered at the hospital by the mother or someone authorized by her.
