About this resource
This is a federally funded health insurance program designed for individuals aged 65 and above, along with those under 65 who have disabilities and have either received or been deemed eligible for Social Security Disability benefits for a specified period.
Application Process: You can apply online at: https://ssa.gov/medicare/sign-up
Who can use this
- Individuals who are US citizens aged 65 and above or those under 65 who have been on Social Security disability benefits for a minimum of 24 months.
Documents you may need
- Social Security Card; Proof of Insurance — Start and end dates of any current group health plan and end dates for any group health plans after age 65.
