About this resource
This program provides advocacy and legal representation for low-income and homeless individuals with disabilities who are applying for, receiving, or contesting decisions regarding Social Security benefits. A fee of 25% is charged on past due benefits owed to the client by Social Security if the client is successful in their case. There is no fee for cases where no past due benefits are owed to the client.
Intake Procedure: Contact 2-1-1 for initial screening.
Fees: A 25% contingency fee applies in cases that result in a lump sum payment of retroactive benefits for clients, with payment only due upon winning the case. Representation for cases that do not yield retroactive benefits, such as overpayments and terminations, is provided at no cost. Clients are responsible for any casework expenses incurred.
