Community Resource
About this resource
This program offers financial aid to low-income families, immigrants, refugees, pregnant women, and individuals who are elderly, blind, or disabled, including various assistance programs such as TANF/WorkFirst, AREN, Diversion Cash Assistance, Refugee Cash Assistance, and ABD.
Application Process: To apply, individuals can call, visit the website, or go to any Community Service Office (CSO). Once an online or paper application is submitted, the Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) will send a letter outlining the interview process. Clients in need of urgent financial assistance should consult their case manager. Additionally, the phone service includes a callback option (virtual hold), allowing callers to provide their number and receive a return call when it is their turn. Callers may interact with multiple representatives; initially, a navigator will assess the call to determine if they can assist or if another specialist is better suited to help.
Cost: There are no fees associated with the application.
