About this resource
This program provides monetary aid to low-income families, immigrants and refugees, pregnant women, and those who are elderly, blind, or disabled. The available programs include TANF/WorkFirst, AREN, Diversion Cash Assistance, Refugee Cash Assistance, and ABD.
Intake Procedure: Individuals can call, visit the website, or go to any Community Service Office (CSO) to request an application. Once the online or paper application is submitted, DSHS will send a notification detailing the interview requirements. Clients in need of urgent financial help should consult their case manager. Additionally, the phone line features a callback option (virtual hold) allowing callers to input their number and receive a return call when it is their turn. Callers may interact with multiple representatives; the first being a navigator who assesses the call to determine if they can assist or if another specialist would be more suitable.
Fees: There are no fees associated with this service.
