About this resource
This initiative provides a completely subsidized bus pass for travel on King County Metro and Sound Transit for residents of King, Pierce, and Snohomish counties whose income is at or below 80% of the Federal Poverty Level and who are enrolled in specific benefit programs. Additionally, there are partially subsidized passes for individuals with incomes under 200% FPL.
Enrollment Process: Individuals can sign up through agencies such as Public Health - Seattle & King County and Catholic Community Services. All participants in the subsidized annual pass program must obtain a new ORCA LIFT card, which will remain valid for over two years. The subsidized pass credit is valid for up to 12 months.
Costs: There are no fees for those receiving full subsidies. The ORCA Lift fare is set at $1 per ride.
Who can use this
- Individuals aged 6 and older with incomes at or below 80% of the Federal Poverty Level, who also reside in King, Pierce, or Snohomish counties and are enrolled in specific benefit programs, are eligible. Households earning under 200% of the Federal Poverty Level can apply for ORCA Lift cards.
