Community Resource
About this resource
Eligible riders can request Access rides by calling in advance, with the option to schedule from one to seven days ahead of time.
Intake Process: To begin, visit the website to complete a self-assessment before receiving an application, or call to ask for one. It is recommended that applicants use the website for quicker and more efficient service. There is no fee to apply, and transportation is provided to and from the in-person functional evaluation. For accessible information, call or email the office. Translators are available for various languages, including Amharic, Chinese, Korean, Punjabi, Russian, Somali, Spanish, Ukrainian, and Vietnamese when contacting the Access Paratransit Certification public line.
Costs: Monthly pass costs $63, and a one-way fare is $1.75. One companion can ride for the same fare as the eligible rider, and additional fare-paying companions may join based on availability. An applicant may also bring a non-fare paying personal care attendant (PCA) if certified during the eligibility assessment.
Who can use this
- Residents of King County with disabilities that hinder their ability to use regular accessible public transit can apply for paratransit services, requiring an application, healthcare verification, and an in-person evaluation to determine their eligibility.
