Hopelink In Shoreline
Community Resource
About this resource
Offers seasonal financial support for heating and energy bills to households that meet income eligibility criteria; appointments can be made via phone or online, and there is no requirement for overdue bills or shut-off notices. Limited air conditioning units are available for those who qualify for LIHEAP this season.
Intake Process: If power has already been disconnected or is set to be disconnected within 24 hours, clients should email their disconnection notice or call their local Hopelink office, leaving a detailed voicemail. This message should include: Name, phone number, shut-off date, utility provider name, and energy account number if applicable. PSE HELP can be applied for directly online without needing an appointment. If power is not yet disconnected, clients can apply for LIHEAP by scheduling an appointment either in-person or by phone. To do this, visit the website or call the Energy Assistance Appointment and Information Line; using the website is advised for quicker access. Clients can view a complete availability calendar and select their preferred date and time, whereas the phone line only provides the next available slot. The phone line operates 24/7, and callers should pay close attention to the recording for necessary documentation details. Both the phone and website draw from the same appointment pool, with new slots released every Monday at 9 am. If appointments are fully booked, clients should try again the following week. When booking, clients can choose between a phone or a limited number of in-person appointments. Note that appointments cannot be made through the main office line. During a phone appointment, the specialist will inform clients about the required documents. If a mail-out application has been completed and returned, no phone appointment is necessary. If there is uncertainty, it is advisable to schedule a phone appointment for assistance with the application process.
Fees: None.
