About this resource
This initiative provides financial support to low-income families, immigrants, refugees, pregnant women, and individuals who are elderly, blind, or disabled. The programs available include TANF/WorkFirst, AREN, Diversion Cash Assistance, Refugee Cash Assistance, and ABD.
To apply, individuals can call, visit the website, or go to any Community Service Office (CSO) to get an application. Once the online or paper application is submitted, the Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) will send a letter outlining the interview process. Those in need of urgent financial help should consult their case manager. Additionally, the phone line features a callback option (virtual hold) that allows callers to enter their phone number and receive a return call when it’s their turn. Callers may interact with multiple representatives, starting with a navigator who will assess the call to determine the best assistance available.
There are no fees associated with this service.
