Coastal Community Action Program In South Bend
Community Resource
About this resource
This program offers comprehensive financial assistance to adults recognized as incapacitated by DSHS, who either lack income or are part of the ABD program, potentially covering expenses like rent, utilities, hygiene products, and transportation costs.
Intake Process: Clients are required to call and schedule an appointment.
Fees: There are no fees associated with this service.
Who can use this
- To qualify, individuals must be classified as incapacitated by DSHS due to mental health issues, physical disabilities, or participation in a chemical dependency treatment program that restricts their ability to work, AND must have no income OR be enrolled in the ABD (Aged, Blind and Disabled) program. DSHS will assess earned income and assets to ensure they fall below the income level guidelines. Certain government income programs, such as SSI, SSDI, and TANF, are not eligible. Once DSHS approval is granted, services are prioritized for those facing homelessness or at risk of losing their housing in Pacific and Lewis counties.
