About this resource
This program offers financial aid to low-income families, immigrants, refugees, pregnant women, and individuals who are elderly, blind, or disabled. It includes assistance programs such as TANF/WorkFirst, AREN, Diversion Cash Assistance, Refugee Cash Assistance, and ABD.
Intake Procedure: To apply, individuals can call, visit the website, or go to any Community Service Office (CSO). Once an application is submitted, either online or on paper, the Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) will send a letter outlining the interview process. Clients in need of urgent financial support should consult their case manager. Additionally, the phone line features a callback option (virtual hold) allowing callers to enter their number and receive a return call when it's their turn. Callers may interact with multiple representatives, starting with a navigator who will assess the call to determine the best assistance available.
