Community Resource
About this resource
This program provides financial support to low-income families, immigrants, refugees, pregnant women, and individuals who are elderly, blind, or disabled. The available programs include TANF/WorkFirst, AREN, Diversion Cash Assistance, Refugee Cash Assistance, and ABD.
Intake Procedure: To apply, you can call, visit the website, or go to any Community Service Office (CSO). Once your application, whether online or on paper, is received, the Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) will send a letter outlining the requirements for an interview. Clients of DSHS seeking emergency financial aid should consult their case manager. Additionally, the phone line features a callback option (virtual hold) allowing callers to provide their phone number and receive a return call when it is their turn. Callers may interact with multiple representatives; the first will be a navigator who assesses the call to determine if they can assist or if another qualified individual should take over.
Fees: There are no fees associated with this service.
