About this resource
This program provides financial support to low-income families, immigrants, refugees, pregnant women, and individuals who are elderly, blind, or disabled. The services offered include TANF/WorkFirst, AREN, Diversion Cash Assistance, Refugee Cash Assistance, and ABD.
Intake Process: To apply, individuals can call, visit the website, or go to any Community Service Office (CSO). Upon receiving an online or paper application, DSHS will issue a letter detailing the interview process. Those in need of urgent financial help should consult their case manager. Additionally, the phone line features a callback option (virtual hold), allowing callers to provide their number and receive a return call when it's their turn. Callers may interact with multiple representatives, starting with a navigator who will assess whether they can assist directly or if another specialist is better suited for the caller's needs.
