About this resource
This initiative assists clients eligible for HEN by providing support for housing and essential needs, which includes rent, move-in assistance, utilities (both electric and gas), hygiene products, cleaning supplies, and bus passes. Applicants must first apply at DSHS; after qualifying, they should reach out to Blue Mountain Action Council.
Intake Procedure: Individuals can apply in person at a local DSHS Community Services Office, online at washingtonconnection.org, or by contacting the DSHS Customer Service line. After DSHS assesses medical and financial eligibility, they will refer clients to the regional HEN provider. Once approved by DSHS, clients should contact Blue Mountain Action Council.
Fees: There are no fees associated with this program.
Who can use this
- To qualify, individuals must be low-income adults unable to work for a minimum of 90 days due to physical or mental health issues and not eligible for the Aged, Blind or Disabled cash assistance program, with eligibility confirmed by DSHS.
