Idaho comprises seven health districts that work closely with the Department of Health and Welfare and other local and state organizations. Each district has its own board of health appointed by county commissioners and operates independently of state agencies. They cater to local demands, offering diverse services that differ between districts, including community and home health nursing, environmental health, dental hygiene, and nutrition programs.
