Bear River Head Start (Soda Springs)

Head Start is a national preschool initiative aimed at children from families that qualify based on income. Local nonprofit organizations manage Head Start centers across the country. The program accepts applications for children aged 0 to 5 years from families whose income falls below poverty thresholds, including those with special needs or at risk. A limited number of children from families with higher incomes but special needs may also be admitted. Services are provided at no cost and include assistance with medical, dental, educational, and social needs. Families must provide proof of income, the child's birth date, and immunization records. Head Start offers various supportive services, such as social services, parent involvement, nutrition, mental health, health education, disability support, and dental care. The program aims to enhance the lives of children, families, staff, and the community by providing quality education and family-centered services. Head Start serves low-income children aged 0-5 years and offers both center-based and home-based options, with meals provided based on the chosen option. Parents are encouraged to get involved through volunteering and can also benefit from positive parenting classes. Transportation is not available, and services are primarily offered in English.
