About this resource
HELP Suffolk operates a 76-unit transitional housing facility designed for homeless families, making it the most extensive housing option for the homeless on Long Island. The facility spans seven acres and includes four residential buildings, a community center, two playgrounds, and a baseball field. Since its establishment, HELP Suffolk has assisted over 4,000 families, with around 60 percent successfully transitioning to permanent housing. Additionally, about 500 individuals have found employment across more than 120 companies in Suffolk County. The services offered encompass Medical Services, Employment Services, Mental Health Services, Housing Placement Assistance, Early Childhood Education/Daycare, After School Programs, Homework Help/Tutoring, Client Case Management, Recreation, After-Care Services, and On-Site Security. Units are also available for individuals with disabilities.
Intake Procedure: Referrals must come from the Suffolk County Department of Social Services (DSS). For intake information, please contact DSS directly at (631) 854-9100.
Fees: Services are provided at no cost.

- Referrals from the Department of Social Services are required for Suffolk County homeless families to access emergency housing services.
