Project Independence Suffolk

This program is a thorough, non-residential initiative aimed at preparing young individuals aged 14-21 who are currently in foster care or have recently exited it, to successfully live and work independently in their communities once they age out of the foster care system. Our program also emphasizes collaboration with foster parents, offering home visits and various supportive services. Throughout the year, we provide training for foster parents and host support groups. Participants can engage in workshops covering health and sexuality, recreational activities, vocational training, college and career readiness, resume crafting, financial literacy, mental health, and substance abuse awareness, among other topics.
