The program oversees several housing initiatives: -Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program: As of April 2018, pre-applications for the wait list are being accepted with a 12-month wait period. -Family Self-Sufficiency Program: Assists Section 8 recipients in gaining education and job skills to achieve financial independence. -Housing Choice Voucher Homeownership Program: Provides help with monthly mortgage payments for Section 8 recipients. -Low-Rent Public Housing Program: Offers rental housing subsidized by the federal government. -Farm Labor Housing: Supplies housing for both active and retired agricultural workers. Who can use this

  • -Applicants must be low-income households; those from outside Malheur and Harney Counties need to live in these counties for one year before relocating. -Farm labor housing is designated for domestic agricultural workers, including those involved in fish and oyster farming and on-farm processing; retirees and disabled individuals from agricultural work are eligible, provided they are U.S. citizens or permanent residents.
