About this resource

This initiative provides confidential mediation, facilitation, and education in conflict resolution. The types of mediation offered include: -Community Mediation: Addressing disputes related to noise, fences, parking, vandalism, animal complaints, property damage or maintenance, harassment, minor assaults, and financial disagreements. -Foreclosure Avoidance Mediation: Involves specially trained facilitators who conduct face-to-face meetings between borrowers and lenders to prevent home foreclosure. -Housing Mediation: Aimed at tenants and landlords/housing providers to discuss matters concerning rent, repairs, communication, or any other living arrangement issues. -Manufactured Home (MFH) Mediation: Helps homeowners, residents, managers, and park owners resolve conflicts related to parks and their living situations. -Home Sharing Mediation: Links homeless high school students committed to graduating with individuals willing to share their homes. Mediators assist in establishing rental agreements and house rules to foster open communication and set mutual expectations prior to moving in. They also follow up after a few months to promote ongoing dialogue, contract adjustments, and conflict resolution strategies as necessary. -Restorative Dialogue: Provides trained facilitators to facilitate face-to-face meetings between juvenile offenders and crime victims, allowing them to discuss the effects of the harm, accountability, and agreements to make amends. Most cases are accepted, excluding parenting plan/divorce matters or court-ordered small claims, which are managed through Washington County.
