About this resource
The IRS offers free basic tax return preparation via its Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) and Tax Counseling for the Elderly (TCE) programs. These services are run by IRS partners and supported by volunteers. The TCE program specifically addresses inquiries related to pensions and retirement issues that are pertinent to seniors.
To get started, visit the website and utilize the locator tool to identify the closest tax preparation site, which is regularly updated from January to April.
There are no fees for these services.
