This program provides a one-time financial aid for residential utility expenses such as electricity, water, or natural gas, but assistance is contingent upon available funding and is not guaranteed. It does not cover fuel vouchers for gasoline, oil, propane, or similar fuels, and some regions may not have available appointments.

Intake Procedure: -Visit the website for application details and preparation steps -Regularly check the main page at www.svdppdx.org for updates on application availability, including dates, times, and contact numbers -Call the provided number when the application line is open, leaving a voicemail with the required information listed on the agency's website -For further inquiries, call the hotline, which will inform you when applications are closed due to full appointments.

Who can use this

  • -Eligible customers include those using Pacific Power, PGE, NW Natural Gas, or municipal water services -Applicants must thoroughly review the information on the Get Ready Road page and the How to Apply page on the website -Applications should be made no earlier than 3 days before the payment due date or shut-off date -Applicants must inform the utility company of their need for assistance -Efforts to arrange accommodations with the utility company (such as payment plans or medical certificates) must have been made -Funding from St Vincent de Paul must suffice to prevent service shut-off or restore service -The applicant must be the account holder or an authorized user on the account -Only residential accounts are eligible -Each household can receive one aid payment per year.

  • -Photo ID card, or combination of non-photo ID documents -Account number -Written utility bill or shut-off notice (digital copy ok) -Signed release of information form (provided by SVdP) -Proof of ability to pay the remainder of minimum due, such as money order made out to utility, or receipt for payment already made (check or cash not valid as proof)
