Community Resource
About this resource
This initiative provides financial support to low-income families, immigrants, refugees, pregnant women, and individuals who are elderly, blind, or disabled. Available programs include TANF/WorkFirst, AREN, Diversion Cash Assistance, Refugee Cash Assistance, and ABD.
Intake Process: Individuals can call, visit the website, or go to any Community Service Office (CSO) to request an application. Once the online or paper application is submitted, DSHS will send a letter outlining the interview process. Those in need of emergency financial assistance should consult their case manager. Additionally, the phone line features a callback option (virtual hold) allowing callers to enter their number and receive a return call when it’s their turn. Callers may interact with multiple staff members; the first contact will be a navigator who assesses the call to determine the best assistance available.
Fees: There are no fees associated with this program.
