About this resource
This program provides financial support to low-income families, immigrants, refugees, pregnant women, and individuals who are elderly, blind, or disabled. The available assistance programs include TANF/WorkFirst, AREN, Diversion Cash Assistance, Refugee Cash Assistance, and ABD.
Intake Procedure: Individuals can call, visit the website, or go to any Community Service Office (CSO) to request an application. Once the online or paper application is submitted, DSHS will send a letter detailing the interview requirements. Clients in need of emergency financial help should consult their case manager. Additionally, the phone line offers a callback feature (virtual hold) that allows callers to enter their phone number and receive a return call when it is their turn. Callers may interact with multiple representatives; initially, a navigator will assess the call to determine if they can assist or if another qualified person is needed.
Fees: There are no fees associated with this service.
